What roles can I assign to workspace members?

Kanvly has four roles: Owner, Admin, Member, and Guest. Owner has full control and is the only role that can transfer ownership and manage billing. Admins manage workspace settings. Members can create and update work. Guests get view-only access to just the pages shared with them. You set the role when you invite someone and can change it later from their row.

How do I invite someone to my workspace?

Invite by email directly from the members area inside the workspace, where the work already lives — no separate admin console. You choose the person's role at the moment of invite, so their access is correct from day one. Once they accept, they appear in the roster with their role already set and land straight in the workspace.

Are guests free, or do they use a paid seat?

Guests are free and don't use a paid seat. They see only the pages you explicitly share with them and have view-only access. Members, admins, and owners count toward your plan's included seats. This lets you bring in clients or occasional collaborators as guests without adding to your seat count.

What is the difference between a Member and a Guest?

A Member can create and update work across the workspace and uses one of your plan's seats. A Guest is free, view-only, and scoped to just the pages shared with them — they can't edit anything. Yes. From a member's row, an Owner or Admin can switch their role between Admin, Member, and Guest, or remove them from the workspace entirely. The Owner role is protected — it can't be reassigned casually, and you can't change your own role — which keeps ownership and access from drifting unexpectedly as the team changes.

The workspace checks access on every change, so a Guest physically cannot edit, and members beyond a workspace's seat allowance become read-only until the plan is upgraded.
